The Alaskan Broadcasters Association had its annual Goldies Award show on Friday night and KFAT took home 3 awards, more than any other radio station in the State of Alaska! The KFAT Morning Chaos (my morning show) won for Best Radio Show in Alaska! The Morning show also won the Best Comedy Feature for Mount Redoubt No Doubt! ( a silly parody song that Brad did with some of his buddies, when the volcano was erupting here) KFAT also took home an award for Best Promotional Package for The Stimulus Contest that we did earlier this year.

I included a picture of Brad (my morning show co-host) and McConnell (the production director for KFAT) and myself holding our awards proudly!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Halloween! James and I attended my Radio stations event and party at the Haunted Hotel here in anchorage. We had a wonderful time, James dressed up like an old Gold Prospector and I was a Saloon Girl. I still was a little sick so we didnt stay past 11 but we still had a great time. Lots of spooks, and lots of laughs.

Update on the Wedding plans!

So the official date has been made! It will be on March 3rd, 2010 and we now have a location locked down! We will have the ceremony and reception at The Vistoso Golf Club in Oro Valley! Update on the dress too. I think most of you know that I am wearing my Grandmas dress but it has not been well stored. For almost 50 years she just had it shoved in a big black garbage bag in storage. Well it turned like a yellowish brown color. So I was some what discouraged with having a white dress. But I am very happy to report that the cleaners that I took it to must also be magicians because I went in to take a look at it and it looks fantastic! It is just an off white color and he said that he is still going to give it one more 'treatment' to it to get it even whiter. The next step is to take it too the alterations lady to make it a bit more modern. James and I are getting really excited!

time for another post

Ok its time for another post:

Life is great right now. I finally quit Pier 1 which I really should have done long ago. Planning a wedding, doing a full time job, and trying to work out 5 days a week made it just to overwhelming. So the wedding is officially going to be in Tucson on March 20th. I have the 'save the date' magnets I will probably send them out over the next couple of months. I pick up my dress tomorrow from the cleaners, then I will be taking it over to the tailors where it will probably stay for quite sometime.

James is doing great. He is so good to me, we have a wonderful time together. Fall is here and winter is on its way. We had an amazing sunrise this morning which doesn't happen often. I got some pictures on my blackberry but I need to figure out how to get them on my computer so I can post them. I also got a great picture of Canby (our dog) laying in some colorful bushes it is a great pic, hopefully I will get them up soon, until then enjoy this sweet picture that James took of Canby and I napping on the bed yesterday. She is my little protector.

For those of you who may not know James and I have finally started to make some REAL plans for the wedding. It IS going to be in Arizona and it will be around the end of March, beginning of April (depending on what is still available) Our favorite place so far is Saguaro Buttes. It is just beautiful. The ceremony outside surrounded by 360 degrees of beautiful desert landscape and the reception inside a beautifully set open area with huge windows all around. It is a wonderful place where we can get some amazing photos and wont be bothered. If you want to check out the website click on the following link and let me know what you think. I am working on getting it booked now. I will keep you informed and save the dates will be sent out a short time after we get everything finalized...

Here's to the Begining

So Brittany got me started on this whole Blog thing. To be honest I always thought it was a little silly but then I realized how much I liked keeping up with other peoples Blogs because I am so far away it lets me feel included with what is going on with family and friends. Brittany also said it would be a great way for me to share all of my Alaskan adventures with everyone who is not here. I usually just send out a mass email of pictures after such adventures but why not just post them here? so Brittany Kudos to you dear sister for convincing me to just start a blog. Now I guess it is up to me to keep it updated :)
